Arab Potash Company Strengthens Its Long-Term Presence in Europe
Arab Potash Company (APC) has signed a long-term agreement with Euroports, one of Europe’s leading port infrastructure and logistics operators, for the handling and storage of approximately 60,000 metric tons of potash products at the Port of Antwerp, Belgium. The agreement covers an initial three-year period, with an automatic renewal for an additional three years.
Euroports operates an extensive network of more than 50 terminals and logistics platforms across European ports, providing integrated port handling, storage, and distribution services.
The agreement represents a significant step in APC’s strategy to strengthen and consolidate its long-term presence in Northern Europe. Through its Antwerp logistics hub, APC will maintain year-round inventories of its various potash grades and colours, bringing its products closer to European customers and ensuring greater reliability, flexibility, and responsiveness to market requirements.
The dedicated storage facilities will enable APC to further enhance its distribution capabilities across Europe through an integrated logistics network utilizing coaster vessels, inland barges, and trucks. This infrastructure will also provide greater flexibility in managing seasonal demand fluctuations, overcoming logistical constraints, and ensuring continuity of supply to customers across the continent.
H.E. Shehadeh Abu Hdeib, Chairman of Arab Potash Company, welcomed the agreement, emphasizing that it reflects APC’s commitment to expanding its international presence and strengthening its strategic partnerships with leading global logistics providers. He noted that the partnership with Euroports represents an important step in reinforcing APC’s position as a trusted international potash supplier and supporting the company’s long-term growth and market diversification objectives.
APC’s President & CEO, Dr. Maen Nsour, stated that this agreement represents a significant milestone in APC’s strategy to expand and consolidate its presence in the European market. He emphasized that establishing a long-term logistics platform in Antwerp reflects APC’s commitment to strengthening its international market position, deepening relationships with European customers, and building a more resilient and diversified global distribution network. He further noted that this strategic investment will enhance APC’s competitiveness and support its long-term growth ambitions in one of the world’s most important fertilizer markets.
Rashid Lubani, Senior Vice President of APC Trading & Logistics Europe AG, APC’s European trading and logistics arm, emphasized that this agreement reaffirms APC’s long-term commitment to the European market and its customers. He noted that the Antwerp hub will enhance APC’s ability to provide reliable, flexible, and just-in-time deliveries, while helping address the reduction in the potassium chloride supply to Europe. He further highlighted that maintaining strategic inventories in Antwerp will strengthen supply security and continuity, particularly during periods of logistical disruption and seasonal transportation constraints.
The agreement further reinforces APC’s ongoing efforts to diversify its export markets, strengthen its international distribution capabilities, and develop long-term partnerships that enhance customer service and support sustainable commercial growth.
