Dr. Thafer Mahdi Abdullah Bahr Aluloom

APC Board Member representing Arab Mining Company since August 6, 2026. Dr. Thafer Bahr Aluloom has extensive experience in government administration, finance, tourism, hospitality, and protocol. He currently serves as Chairman of the Iraqi Fund for External Development at the Ministry of Finance, a position he has held since March 2025.
Dr. Bahr Aluloom has held several senior government positions in Iraq. He served as Advisor to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities (Deputy Minister) from February 2024 to February 2025, Chairman of the Tourism Authority from 2020 to 2024, and Director General of the Protocol and Guest House Department at the Prime Minister’s Office from 2016 to 2020. He also held several Director General positions at the Prime Minister’s Office and the Ministry of Trade between 2009 and 2016..
Earlier in his career, Dr. Bahr Aluloom held senior finance and business support positions with InterContinental Hotels Group in Dubai, Sharjah, and Mukalla. His roles included Executive Director of Finance and Business Support, Acting General Manager, Financial Controller, Credit Manager, and Treasurer. Mr. Bahr Aluloom holds a PhD in International Relations and Diplomacy, a master’s degree in strategic planning for National Security from the University of Defence for Military Studies, a bachelor’s degree in Law from Al-Nisour University College, and a bachelor’s degree in Statistics from Mustansiriyah University. He has also completed executive training programs in performance management, revenue management, and protocol.
